Manchester City and England star Kyle Walker has secretly wed his childhood sweetheart despite cheating on her and fathering a love child, according to reports.

The defender, 31, got hitched to Annie Kilner - who has forgiven him for a number of betrayals in their relationship - in a small ceremony to avoid publicity and due to Covid, say The Sun.

Walker and Annie met in the footballer's home city of Sheffield when she was 15 and he was 17, but things haven't always been plain sailing for the couple.

Indeed, Walker has suffered more than one blow to his reputation since his mega £50million move to City from Tottenham in 2017.

In 2019, Ex on the Beach TV reality star Laura Brown claimed she and Walker repeatedly romped in his £200,000 Bentley 4x4.

Annie booted him out of their £3.5million Cheshire mansion but they later got back together.

But she kicked him out for a second time when he revealed Lauryn Goodman was having his baby.

In an emotional interview at the time, Annie opened up on the incident.

"What he has done to me and our children is obscene. I can't begin to put it into words," she told The Sun.

"In late March last year he was unfaithful with a reality TV star. I found out a month later and was broken by it. He begged me to take him back but by July he was at it again.

"Not even three months later and someone was pregnant. My youngest was one. Who does that?

"I don't know what my thoughts or feelings are any more. I feel dead inside. Each day is filled with pain."

Despite those words, the couple got back together again.

But there was more trouble for Walker early last year when he breached lockdown rules by having a party with two sex workers.

Walker apologised for the breach and said: "I want to take this opportunity to issue a public apology for the choices I made last week.

"I understand that my position as a professional footballer brings the responsibility of being a role model. As such, I want to apologise to my family, friends, football club, supporters and the public for letting them down."

Despite all of that, the couple reportedly tied the knot in front of a handful of guests and a registrar at the five-star Mottram Hall hotel in Cheshire in November.

They share children Roman, Riaan and Reign.
