» Dylan Eder Memorial Ride, Cars 4 Canines Car Show set to benefit veterans Saturday

TROY — The third Annual Dylan Eder Memorial Ride and the inaugural Cars 4 Canines Car Show will both take place Saturday to benefit veterans.

The two events will benefit Ibi Semper Training, a local non-profit charitable organization that instructs veterans and first responders with post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) on training their dogs to become PTSD service dog teams.

The Memorial Ride will be held in Troy starting at 9 a.m. at Brunswick Harley Davidson and concluding at Dinosaur BBQ. This ride was started to honor the memory of Dylan Eder, a veteran who was killed four years ago in a motorcycle accident. The ride works to bring awareness to motorcycle riders and their safety.

"We host this ride in Dylan's honor and to remember him, but also to continue to hold the State of NY to a higher standard when it comes to the law and rights of its residents who ride motorcycles," Dylan's fiancé, Jenelle Rodgers, said in a statement.

Riders can register for $20, and passengers can register for $10. A meal is included with the registration.

"Dylan was a proud Marine and an avid animal lover, making this local charity one we think he would be proud to support," Rodgers added.

Sonya Ward, founder of Ibi Semper Training, is most appreciative of this gesture.

"We are humbled and appreciative of Jenelle and her family for supporting our mission," Ward said in a statement.

Saturday afternoon in Clifton Park, Ibi Semper Training will hold its inaugural Cars 4 Canines Car Show. The family and dog-friendly event will be held at Eddie F's Seafood at 1742 US Route 9, from noon to 5 p.m.

Registration to showcase a car is $20, and there is no charge for spectators. The event will award trophies. There will also be a number of vendors and raffles.

"We are so excited about this new event in our lineup. It will be an afternoon that everyone of all ages will be able to enjoy, all while helping veterans … and dogs!" Ward said. "Please consider supporting both events that day … make it a day of honoring veterans, dogs and riders."
