One way to get motivated to hit your fitness goals is to switch up your usual regimen with new gear, whether a set of weights, exercise apparel or a fun activity that gets you and your crew away from screens or into the great outdoors. As someone who made a big investment in fitness after having a baby in my 40s, and who goes to outdoor gear stores for fun, I know first-hand that the right fitness equipment can spur you toward better health—and it's a smart investment during Amazon‘s big sale. We even found a sale product for your pet.

If you haven't picked up pickleball yet, now might be the perfect time. This on-sale set comes with four paddles, two indoor and two outdoor balls, grip tape in four colors and handy carrying bags for the rackets and balls. Choose from a grid pattern or one that displays a map of the New York City subway. Now all you need is a court and a net and you’re ready to play.

If a stronger core is your goal for better balance—or if working from home is leaving you with back pain—a half-ball trainer can be a great enhancer for exercises like push-ups, squats, lunges, planks and climbers. This one inflates with a simple pump (included) and has anchors to attach resistance bands (two included—though you can also attach other ones you may own to vary the resistance). Its six anti-slip rubber feet, anti-skid texture and 600-pound weight limit mean you can confidently stand, jump, kneel or lie on it, whether flat- or ball-side up. Amazon shows it at 32% off, and it's more than $20 less than its price last week.

Chances are, you’re familiar with the Peloton exercise bike, and thanks to Amazon's two-day sale, it's 15% off. The original model of the high-tech stationary bike along with its online component of virtual classes (which costs $44 per month) offers a fitness studio-level workout experience at home. With a 4-foot by 2-foot footprint, it takes up minimal space, making it an easy fit in most homes and apartments. The bike also comes with an adjustable seat and handlebar, as well as a 22-inch screen, which you can tilt to find a comfortable view for your height. You’ll save $220 on the Peloton bike now compared with its price last week on Amazon; make sure to check whether expert assembly is available in your area at checkout.

You deserve better than a mat that slips as you’re on the verge of a perfect warrior pose. A firm grip is the big advantage of this yoga mat that you might have seen before in your favorite boutique studio. Right now, it's down 20% to $52 in Amazon's sale. Consumer commenters enthusiastically confirm it grips the floor well and its 71-inch length requires less adjusting as you move through poses. It's also light—3.7 pounds and 5 millimeters thick to provide comfortable cushioning and joint protection during your entire practice. Looking for something different? See our best-ranked yoga mats.

If you want a 2-inch-thick mat that offers a lot of space to move around, this one from We Sell Mats at 4-by-10 feet is 15% off, down to $200, in Amazon's big sale. In the past year, it has dipped as low as $153, but if you need something for indoor workouts or for kids to dance or tumble out their energy indoors during inclement weather, this is a decent price and it comes in a range of fun colors. We also like that it folds to one-fourth of its size for underbed storage and its vinyl surface wipes clean. Amazon also has marked down the 4- by 8-foot version to $146.

NordicTrack is a trusted name in exercise equipment, and I can attest to the quality, ease and space-saving cleverness of its Select-a-Weight pair that I purchased through Amazon to share with my husband after BuySide's ranking of best adjustable dumbbells. This iSelect model, marked down 15% to $365 right now, is for people who have an Alexa voice device and want to sync their weightlifting to it. The dumbbells adjust from 5 to 50 pounds in 5-pound increments, either with voice commands or a manual knob. The set comes with a 30-day iFit Family Membership for streaming workouts, which auto-renews unless you cancel. This is an excellent sale price: The set is often $500 and we’ve seen it drop below this Amazon price only once before. Amazon has another adjustable-weight dumbbell from Altler on sale for $118, down 16%, but note that the price is for a single dumbbell, so if you want a set, you’ll need to put two in your basket.

Plus, it's foldable for easy storage, making it a great option for small spaces. Right now, your purchase also includes a 30-day iFit membership, which gives you access to stream live and on-demand workouts.
