Reserve An Outdoor Table For 'Friday Night Cruise' At Swing Inn

TEMECULA, CA — Swing Inn Cafe in Old Town Temecula is offering a special deal for Friday night's Rod Run "cruise" down Old Town Front Street and tables were going fast this week, the manager told Patch.

The Rod Run's Friday Night Cruise runs from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday along Old Town Front Street, according to the City of Temecula's website. For car lovers who want to hang out to see the show, the outdoor patio at the Swing Inn Cafe has an ideal view for the nighttime cruise.

"All of our front row seats are sold out," owner Dean Norris said over Instagram. "There are still some patio seats left, so come swoop them up before they're gone."

Guests can reserve street-side tables for $200 with a clear view of the street, and she said outdoor tables that seat four people are available for $100.

The price includes a spot to watch the classic cars cruising while you munch on a small appetizer and can toast with a glass of champagne, she said.

"The specifics are still being worked out, but we'll be offering something special for the folks who reserve the tables," she said.

The weekend of Rod Run festivities includes 500 pristine classic cars, vendors, food and activities. Saturday's events start from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with the Show & Shine as visitors can wander the closed streets, talk to car owners and enjoy the fair-like atmosphere.

The Swing Inn cafe was initially built in 1927 and was purchased by Norris and his wife, Anne Bridget Norris, for$6 million this fall. Since then, the Norris family gussied up the staff with newly branded Swing Inn attire while the food and drinks have remained unchanged.

The Swing Inn Cafe is open from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday and 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and is located at 28676 Old Town Front Street.

Start the weekend right at the Swing Inn with some excellent smoked barbecue cooked up in Hank's Tank.

"We're cooking up some brisket," Dean Norris said over Instagram. "Come on down to the Swing Inn, we have seats you can reserve on the patio to sit and watch the Rod Run and eat some of this fantastic barbecue."
