Lauryn Hill Reunites With The Fugees At Roots Picnic

Ms. Lauryn Hill brought out some familiar faces at the Roots Picnic over the weekend when Wyclef Jean and Pras joined the headliner on stage. They performed six songs, including hits such as "How Many Mics," "Ready or Not," "Killing Me Softly," and "Fu-Gee-La."

The last time the Fugees were all together was in 2021 when they performed at a secret pop-up show in NYC at The Rooftop at Pier 17. The trio played a nine-song set featuring songs from The Score including their versions of Roberta Flack's "Killing Me Softly With His Song" and the Bob Marley & The Wailers classic "No Woman, No Cry," which closed the set.

The 2021 pop-up date was supposed to be the precursor to their 2022 25th-anniversary tour. The Grammy-winning group was to celebrate their album The Score , which never came to fruition. While the statement at the time dubbed the reason behind the postponement was due to city reopenings because of COVID-19 and the group wanting to be able to "perform for as many fans as possible" reportedly it was delayed to Pras’ legal issues were unknown to the public at the time. It was later fully canceled.

"We anticipate and understand the disappointment, but our anniversary tour will not be able to happen," the trio announced in a statement at the time. "The continued Covid pandemic has made touring conditions difficult, and we want to make sure we keep our fans and ourselves healthy and safe."

Pras Michel was found guilty in federal court in Washington on Wednesday (April 26) of 10 criminal counts related to an international conspiracy, per CBS. Michel faced multiple counts of failed conspiracy. He was founded to have helped Malaysian businessman Jho Low and the Chinese government gain access to US officials. This included former presidents Barack Obama and Donald Trump.

He has yet to be sentenced and faces up to 20 years in prison.

Lil Durk enlisted J. Cole for the lead single "All My Life" off his latest project Almost Healed. Durk admitted that Cole bodied him on the song, which is a rarity with his features.

"He smoked my a– on that one, for one — barely," Smurk said when asked about his experience working with the Dreamville boss, per Complex. "That barely happens. But shout out to J. Cole, shout out to [Dr.] Luke, we made it happen."
