Coon Rapids police identify girl hit by driver Sunday

UPDATE: The Anoka County Sheriff's Office announced Sunday night that the girl was identified and the family was located. She remains in serious condition, and the driver involved in the crash is cooperating with police.

COON RAPIDS, Minn. -- Police say a girl has been identified and her family located after a bicycle crash.

She is in serious condition at a local hospital, according to the Anoka County Sheriff's Office.

First responders were not able to identify her in the immediate aftermath of the crash, which occurred on East River Road and Foley Boulevard.

Not many details were released on the crash, but officials say the incident involved the girl on her bicycle as well as a motor vehicle.

The crash is under investigation by the Coon Rapids Police Department, Minnesota State Patrol, and the Anoka County Sheriff's Office.
