A new pedal go karting track has opened near Canterbury and it's not just for kids.

Run by soft play centre Big Fun House the one of a kind attraction is made up of tricky bends, cambers and chicanes.

It even has breathtaking uphill stints and hairpin corners sure to puff out even the fittest.

Owner Simon Bridgland, 48, has proudly dubbed the new track, which opened a fortnight ago, "the best off-road pedal circuit in the UK".

Anybody over the age of five can use the go karts and Simon insists the new attraction just off the A28 in Chartham is fun for all the family.

He told Kent Live: "The track is purpose built and uses top of the range pedal go karts made by Berg.

"Everyone who has had a go on the track so far have been very surprised and pleased with the experience.

"A lot of people don't really know what to expect as they haven't been on a pedal go kart before but they're different, fun and very good quality.

"You can really work up a bit of speed on them too and we've designed the track so it has a good amount of flow to it.

"It does take a bit of puff to get around but we wanted to make it a challenge and not a boring straight line that you can find with other pedal tracks.

"We're encouraging adults and children alike to take it on together - it's definitely fun for all the family."

The almost 300m long track, called Big Fun Outdoors, took six weeks to build and can accommodate up to 15 go karts at a time.

There are long, wide parts of the circuit perfect for drag races and there is also the opportunity to race the marshal.

The track is open in the summer season from 4pm - 6pm Thursday and Friday.

It also opens 10am - 6pm Saturday and Sunday.

Large or medium go karts can be hired for £10 for an hour, while the smaller karts cost £5 for a 30 minute session.
